FAQ > NON-INFLAMED ACNE

What Are Whiteheads?

A whitehead is called a “closed comedone”.  It is basically a blackhead that has not “matured” into a blackhead yet, as the pore remains closed.  Because the pore is closed to air, it does not discolor like the blackhead does. It just looks like congestion and bumps under the skin.  This is also called “maturation arrest” acne.  The pore will eventually open up and “mature” and a good vitamin a formulation can speed that process along.

You can get rid of whiteheads by using the right products for it along with some lifestyle changes.  You will definitely need an acne specialist to coach you in how to use the products correctly. It is vitally important to follow instructions closely and consistently, as this type of acne is the toughest to get under control.
